“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.”
-Audrey Hepburn-
MOVIES- Skip Them or See Them-
An Ideal Husband (Minie Driver, Rupert Evrett, Julianne Moore,1999): This actually wasn’t such a bad movie if you like period pieces and enjoy a classic feeling sort of movie with a twist of modern in it as well. I give it a 7/10 cause over all it was pretty good, which of course is ****4/5 stars.
Atonement’ (Keira Knightly & James McAvoy- I need to see more movies with him in it). What a strange movie! Sometimes you just can’t tell where its going to go but don’t give up on it because as weird as it seems at times it still ends up being good enough to sit through, at least I thought so in the end. You’ve probably seen it any way, right? If not I give it a chance. ****four out of 5 stars 7/10 points.
Border Town (Jennifer Lopez & Antonio Banderas): This is actually one of J’Lo’s better acting movies… even though this is kind of a sad movie too, it is I think so worth your time. it’s a bit suspenseful and maybe political too, but so worth sitting for (4/5 stars or 7/10 points).
Charlie Wilson’s War (Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, & Philip Seymour Hoffman): This is probably one of the first movies where I wasn’t too sure I liked Tom Hanks or at least it was hard for me to like the character he played. And it took me so long to figure out Julia Roberts was even in it that I was like woa when I finally realized it. Any way, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood to watch such a political movie because I didn’t think it was as great as all that. Maybe it was because I wasn’t sure either if I was supposed to take it seriously or if it was trying to be a comedy. Any way, it was alright I guess. RATING: 6/10 points or ***3/ 5 stars.
Closer (Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, Jude Law, & Clive Owen,): This was a very strange movie in so many ways. it’s a bit older now so I’m sure you’ve either seen it or heard a little something about it. Any way, it has the feel of a play because I think it is derived from a screenplay or something. Everyone in it seems a little bit messed up you could say and actually I’ve forgotten a lot about it but I think I thought it was alright and well I like all the actors in it so I’ll give it a ****4/ 5 Stars or 7/10 points.
Definitely Maybe (Ryan Reynolds & Abigail Breslin): This was sort of an interesting movie, although I have to admit that I was a bit disturbed by some of the lines Abigail Breslin has to spout out, woa there! Any way, Ryan Renolds, isn’t he the guy who broke his engagement with Atlantis Morzet and started going out with Scarlett Johansson? Oh whatever. This was an ok movie, I guess a good enough chick. Better then some others but not awesome either. I guess worth watching (3/5 stars or 5/10points).
Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson): Is a kind of crazy-funny movie with a bunch of misfits just trying to survive life, and nothing more (2/5 stars, 4/10 points).
Freedom Writers (Hillary Swank & Patrick Dempsey): I really liked this movie a lot. Of course it was one of those inspiring sort of sappy kind of movies but the great thing was is that it is based on a true story. It actually reminded me of the old classic, ‘To Serve with Love.’ There was so much to it, and it reminds us once again what it is to watch a good quality movie. *****5 stars and 10 rating.
Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr. & Gwyneth Paltrow): It was sort of a guy movie but it was still pretty good. There was a good amount of light hearted humor to keep us all interested and Iron Man deserves to be a hero after all that he seems to go through. It was surprisingly well done and not so cheesy as it could have been considering all other super-hero movies (3 ½ strss/5 or 6.5/10 points).
Juno (Ellen Page & Jennifer Garner): This was a really great movie, I really enjoyed it a lot! It took me a little while to realize who Jennifer Garner was, I’m not sure why. I’m sure you’ve heard, seen or know a lot about this movie so I won’t bother with the details. If you haven’t seen it yet though, do. *****5 stars or 9/10 rating.
Knocked Up (Katherine Heigl): I was honestly really disappointed in this movie. I expected a lot more from it but I guess oh well. Lets just say that if I was in the situation of the main character I would have gone ahead and hand the baby but maybe not told him about it cause I found the guy and his friends to be way over the top annoying and such LOSERS. I really have no idea why she even gives him such a chance. Honestly if Kathrine Higl wasn’t in this movie I probably would just have stopped watching it. **2 stars or 4/10points.
Mama Mia (Meryl Streep, Amanda Syfried, & Pierce Brosman): I was a bit worried about seeing this movie because I’m a big fan of the ABBA hits and was so worried the cast would ruin the songs! Although there are times when Peirce Brosman sounds a little like Michael McDonald, there are times when he sounds like an American Idol reject, but thankfully not for too long. The humor of the plot and the talent of the other actors makes this a joyful occasion to just sit back, relax, and watch, and sing a long too if you absolutely cannot keep it in. In other words, this was surprisingly very good (7/10 score & 4 out of 5 stars). I love Meryl Streep as an actress even more after seeing her in this, wow she is just so great in this movie too and keeps surprising me! She isn’t the best singer, but she is good enough, and there is so much physical stuff in it for her to do that if you are a fan, you will apprciate her even more. Yeah, this is really worth your time, especially if you love musicals or just like ABBA’s hits.
Marie Antoinette (Kristen Dunst): This was a pretty good period piece but I wish I would have known a bit more about this historically before I watched it cause they sure didn’t answer very many questions for you in this, did they? Sometimes Kristen Dunst annoys me in some of her movies, but I think she did a good job here. The movie ends sort of abruptly though, and I’m not sure I really liked that but it was still interesting to watch. ***3/5 Stars or 6/10 points.
Mozart and the Whale (Josh Hartnett): This is supposedly about people who are or have autism. Its sort of I guess supposed to be a love story but of course it’s a bit more complicated in that it is totally dysfunctional. Its no where as good as ’The Other Sister’ or ’I Am Sam.’ And I’m really not that sure the actors do that well at portraying people with autism as well as they do at portraying very strange and crazy kinds. Any way, this could be a good movie I guess if you’ve had a few too many and well are up for seeing Josh in a totally new way, I guess. 4/10 points or 2/5 stars.
No Reservations (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aron Ekhart & Abigail Breslin): There is something about Aron Ekhart that makes me wish he were in more romantic comedies. Also seeing Cathrine Zeta-Jones in this movie was almost like a breath of fresh air (where has she been hiding)? This is a tragic movie that becomes sweet. Although probably quite predictable it is so worth it, especially if you are in the mood for a good chick flick with some great actors/ beautiful people (4/5 stars or 8/10 points).
P.S I Love You (Hilary Swank & Jeffry Dean Morgan): Awe, I love Jeffry Morgan. Well I also liked this movie too, a lot! It was quite good. Who doesn’t want to be that in love and find it again, over and over again. *****5 stars or 10/10 rating.
10,000 B.C: Was exactly what I thought it would be, a sort of slow/ nonsense movie with a bunch of guys with spears fighting about who knows what all. The 5% of women on their consisted of course of 4% witches, there by leaving the one and only girl the main character is fighting to get back. Over all it was ok, but yeah its pretty much full of the sort of nonsense I’m sure you’ve seen somewhere else, just not really done as well or creatively here. This is a movie if you’re bored and can’t absolutely think of anything else to watch (4/10 points or 2/5 Stars).
The Eye (Jessica Alba): In this movie Jessica Alba’s character is supposed to be blind and ends up getting a corneal transplant of a girl who sort of had the sixth sense or something. It was an ok movie, a (3/5 stars) 6/10 rating from me… but kind of creepy too cause if ever I had to have eye surgery that’s probably the kind I would have to get… but since I didn’t really believe the stuff in the movie that much I was like ‘yeah whatever…’ but I thought it was kind of cool that she… well I don’t want to give the ending away if you haven’t seen it but ‘life isn’t too bad if you’re living your own’ I guess is what I want to say, and sort of what the movie made me think about.
The Kite Runner: I was surprised that it was mostly all captions-- thought the book was way better then the movie of course even though I vaguely remembered the book when watching the movie. Its probably worth your time if you aren’t going to read the book any way, (4/5 stars or 7/10points) but if you are you are better off doing that before watching the movie because I think if you haven‘t or don‘t read the book first, it’s a little bit confusing… besides the book is so worth your time!
The Last Request (T. R Knight): Don’t even bother watching this movie cause you’d be wasting your time on a lot of craziness, and I mean crazy crazyness! Seriously, what else can I say about this except that out of 5 Stars I can only give it a*1, that’s 2/10 cause TR was in it and the actors and film crew bothered to show up to make the movie I suppose.
The Other Boleyn Girl (Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Eric Bana): I’m not exactly sure why but I really liked this movie a lot! It was another period piece of course and also a part of history. I can’t say I know for sure how accurate it is but well everyone did a good job in it and it was just very interesting to watch and to see what would happen. It shows what happens when greed gets in the way and how you can go from having everything to having nothing and appreciating the little you do have I guess. *****5 stars, 9/10 points.
The Ultimate Gift (James Garner, Drew Fuller, & Abigail Breslin): This was sad but I really appreciated the story and what it had to offer to us the viewers. I really liked that Drew Fuller guy in it, I guess that probably helped some in me appreciating the movie even more: ). It also remided me that I want to see more Abigail movies cause she is way talented for her age! Any way, this is a movie that if you haven’t gotten a chance to see yet, you so should! (5/5 stars or 10/10 points).
27 Dresses (Katherine Heigl & James Marsden): I guess I was sort of hoping for more in this movie so I was a little bit disappointed. I really didn’t like James Marsden as much in this movie as I’ve liked him in some of the movies where he was the rejected other man. So I guess really it was an alright movie. ***3/5 stars or 6/10 points.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
