Thoughts of a Moongoddess So no I haven't exactly gotten all my stuff packed yet. Hoy I have a lot to do before Sunday's early departure. And yeah Jeanine and the kids are here so tonight we had a sort of dinner and then went to the football game and watched liz march and all that. Any way, Belding ended up loseing but there was this one kid named Zach Watts and he seemed to be one of the best players if not the best tonight, and it made me think and wonder if it wasn't Kara's little cousin, Racheal's brother? After the game we ate some more cause there were left over and Lee showed up with egg rolls and fried rice, and Sydney had tea cups set out for us to have hot co-co cause she said she knew that would make me happy and it made her happy to make me happy, isn't that so cute:)? Any way, if things work well I should be fling out Sunday but there is sort of a hurricane headed toward Texas where I have my connecting flight so we kind of just have to keep checking and see what happens. Also there's a chance Heidi might be flying in that day cause her mom wasn't doing so well a couple of days ago and had to go in to the hospital. We actually went in to see her and she was doing better yesterday but she is very weak and of course very sick too. Any way, who knows what will really happen... really though I don't have too much time to think about it or do half the things I really wnat and need to do so I just thought I'd say hey and bye to you all before I left, in case I didn't get another chance again. I also decided to post this video of this song I heard by Bebo Norman who on the radio the other day. It sort of touched me because well we are such judgemental people and when it comes down to it no matter what other people are doing in their lives it really isn't our place to judge and point fingers at all their mishaps and mistakes because well it just isn't fair because in many ways we are just as flawd. Andy way, hopefully I'll be able to continue to write you all every now and then on here because no I wasn't able to get my computer fixed on time so for now I don't have my own. Any way, there's still and always snail mail and hopefully also the chance my sister will let me borrow hers. Ok, must go to bed... Talk to you all later:)! -D.O- Current mood: Charice Pempengco & Oprah ( May 2008) ![]() Yeah so if you watched Oprah yesterday you got to see Sody in some shots and if you paused it then there were a few times when you could see “AB” and me. I haven’t really watched it again but I saw Jeanine a couple of times too, but like I said Sody was the most obvious person which makes me quite glad I didn’t sit where she sat. ![]() So what else can I say about the whole experience that I haven’t already said? Did I mention that the studio we were in actually looks a lot smaller then it does on TV? Yeah, we were a bit surprised when we walked in there. Also there are of course a lot of isles and such and so behind us were a lot of things going on with the camera crew and such which made me feel safe that they weren’t going to show our section too much, but obviously I was wrong about that cause they showed our section a lot more then the other people. What else? On TV we look a bit further from the stage then we actually are. From where we were sitting the stage looked kind of lower but the camera shot kind of makes it look like we are further and higher up. Also I thought that in real life Oprah’s hair looked bigger then on TV and she looked a lot shorter then I thought she would be, I was kind of surprised about that. She was really funny, she kept telling the camera people to show only half of her boobs so they wouldn’t look so big on TV. Also they were sort of being slow on somethings and fixing her up between the breaks and at one point she was like ‘can we hurry this up a little, I have to pea.’ Well it was different being there but fun too even though we had to do a lot of waiting too. ![]() As I mentioned it was raining in Chicago so that was a little bit rough cause I didn’t expect that. And we also all ended up changing our clothes in this bathroom where we parked our car cause we didn’t want to wear our clothes all the way there. We left Belding by 6am and in Battle Creek we sort of got all the kids around and had them dropped off to their respective places by 8:30am, we drove a while, got breakfast, drove some more, sort of got lost and had troubles finding our exit so finally when we were able to ask for directions we found this nice guy who after a complicated rendition of turning this way and that way he was like, ‘you know what, I’m going past there so if you just want to follow me I’ll take you there.’ I’m not sure if he was telling the truth about that or if he just felt sorry for us but it worked out cause we it probably would have taken us longer to find where we were going. After we got dressed we walked to this little Mexican restaurant with great food and then we headed to HARPO where we stood out in line for about 20 minutes, then we had to show our ID, get our purses searched like at airports and leave whatever we didn’t want or need behind, then we were escorted to this room with tons of chairs and made to fill a form that gave them permission to film us. We were probably there from about 2pm to about 3:30pm and then they started calling out names to seat people. At that time Jeanine was downstairs going to the bathroom and we just happened to be one of the first people called to be seated so we were a bit surprised and have no idea really how we ended up being seated where we were but it was of course very nice. During the whole time we had no idea what the topic was going to be about so I was thinking about who I would totally flip out about if they were on and I was like, ‘wouldn’t it be cool if they had Josh on?’ So when they were showing clips of him I was like, ‘Woa!’ but no such luck. Celine Deon was almost going to be on but she was busy so she couldn’t be on. They wanted to surprise Cherice when she was singing and have Celine come and join her but no such luck there either. Any way, it was still good and I really do hope that it isn’t the last time I get to go there because I think it would be fun to do it again. Now I’m just basically trying to use my time wisely cause it flies and I have plenty to do before I run out of it and have just hours left. Yesterday I had another eye appointment, got another pair of sun glasses, and got my new glasses that weird as it may sound I think I actually like quite a bit! Basically they just keep getting better and better and this one is actually the best one ever. Any way I hope you are all having a great week. Don’t know when I’ll post again but this will probably be one of the longest ones in a good while. Take Care All :)! And thanks again ‘Ae’ for straighten my hair: ), it was fun not looking quite like myself for a few days:). Chow! -D.O- She's been on Ellen... She's been on Oprah... And She's well on her way to being the next big thing:)! And Yes, this is the girl we got to see on Monday's tapeing of Oprah, which aired yesterday:)... Current mood: I'm exited to watch today's Oprah show since it was taped yesterday and I was there:)! I have to go and tape it for Sody.... I hope to write a bit more about what happened soon:). Current mood: ![]() So Sody had the day off but later she got called in because mostly I think her manager doesn’t seem to know how to schedule people to come in at the right times. Any way, since she went in at 6pm I’m guessing she’ll probably have to stay till closing. I told her to see if she could get Saturday off since she obviously didn’t get to have today off but who knows. Just when she was called in her and I were talking to Elisa through the web cam which I guess I’m supposed to take back or something. I don’t really like those things, I feel so exposed but it was nice being able to hear Elisa and all that. ![]() It pretty much rained all day today so it was nice to stay home and sort of chill. I opted not to go to Battle Creek with “AB” at the crack of dawn. So then later tonight Heather and I ended up going to the Mexican restaurant in Greenville. She wanted me to try their fried ice cream but in the end we were just too full! This Saturday her baby turns one. This Saturday is also the Church picnic which “AB” says I really should go to, that is why I’m hoping Sody has the day off so I won’t feel like I’m pretty much going by myself. There are really no people my age so if anyone wants to come for free food and to just hang out with me there I think I would really, really like that: )! Sody wants us to make potato salad so we can use this salad cream that we apparently have plenty of because anytime anyone is in Belize she aks for. ![]() Wednesday we ended up going to Grand Rapid shopping and boy did we fina a lot of good deal on summer clothes, which I obviously will need but which of course no one else around here wants : ). We also ended up going to our favorite Mexican restaurant on Bridge street, Magie’s Kitchen and surprisingly the guy there still remembers our usual favorite thing that we all get when we are there : ). He’s still sort of cute but he’s beginning to show his age we all agreed. ![]() Oh yeah, tomorrow is when Jeanine is supposed to call the Oprah show to see about tickets and such… to see when we will go and all that. Boy I can’t believe all the rain today, its still going. It really was a good day for me as I skimmed through some books that I might want to take. I’m trying not to take too many but its just so hard to take a very few of the ones I think I’ll need. it’s a bit easier though since today I ordered a bunch on CD from RFB&D. I ended up getting J.K Rowling’s last Harry Potter book which I still haven’t read, as well a couple Nicolas Sparks ones I hadn’t yet gotten a chance to listen to, and a couple of Charles Dickens ones, and then I got Le Mis by Victor Hugo cause I read the abridged version of it last summer and really wanted to get into the whole thing again, then I ordered a couple Jane Austin ones cause I’ve been meaning to read her but hadn’t really gotten a chance. So any way by the time I said ok the lady was like ‘you have 10 books coming your way.’ I was like “Woa!” and am very cheerful and hoping that since I ordered them today they should be here in time. Any way, besides that I still have all the ones I had ordered earlier this summer that I still haven’t gotten to yet! Still waiting for me are: The Road (Cormac McCarthy), The Sister’s Grim Book One, The Fairy Tale Detectives (Michael Buckley), Crime & Punishment (Foydor Dostoyevsky), Angela’s Ashes (Frank McCourt), and 1984 (George Orwell. Basically I’m hoping to have them all read by around Christmas or so, so that if and when Sody comes I can send them back with her and not have to take the chance of maybe losing them in the mail. And basically I just wanted to have some good books cause I always feel better about myself when I am reading something good, you know? ![]() Oh any way, in case you’re interested- for anyone you know or for yourself Heidi told me about this really great online phone card service thing where you can supposidly save a lot of money for U.S and international calls from the U.S (I guess). It’s a phone service for 4 cents a minute or something… You can find out more about it at www.onesuite.com if you are interested in telling anyone about it for when they want to call abroad and so on. I haven’t tried it so I don’t know how it works but it sounds good to me! With that I will once again give you my cell phone number in Belize… 1(501) 667-0377. Don’t call it yet though, cause obviously I’m not there yet, hehehe: ). ![]() P.S It looks like Sody got Saturday off, yeah : )! -Wow this is really LONG and I didn't even mention that Monday after the parade we (Sody, Jay, and I) went to The I-Max to see 'The Dark Kight' or whatever that Batman movie is called. It was good but we had a bit of car trouble and there for had to be rescued by "AB" and Doc:).
Current mood: Not that I can vote any way, but I was just curious how it would turn out... So how’s everyone doing? Good I hope. Busy too I imagine, huh? Are any of you girls free over the weekend? You know this weekend is Belding’s yearly coming out party so if you’re free and want to come around I think I should pretty much be free too. I’m psyched cause I got a bunch of Christmas CD’s burned and I’m hoping to get more good Christian music from the Wittenbach’s sometime soon… and I think they have quite a collection of good stuff I’d like to get my hands on. Hmmm… let me see if I can remember this week at all… Well today “AB” and I left at the crack of dawn to go to Battle Creek cause Jeanine had a meeting and a few things to do. Today Sydney also started gymnastics, we came home after her practice and made it by almost 8pm. Yesterday Heather and her kids stopped on over in the big chaotic mess of “AB” making peach jam and cobbler. I was busy burning music and Sody was chilling cause she had the day off. Tuesday “AB,” Liz, Tye, and I went to the mall and did a bit of shopping and all that jazz. Any further then that and I’m a bit fuzzy. I just know I’ve been busy running here and there. Because I only have 2 more real Sundays left here I have to talk at Church this coming one. I really don’t know what I’ll say yet, but if any of you guys want to come over and support me in the audience that would be cool cause I think I have to speak at both services. Well there’s something else… its kind of interesting and some of us have our fingers crossed, really crossed to know how it will turn out (ahhhhh)! This morning when we got to Jeanine’s she was like “I don’t know if I should tell you this but I have something to tell you.” Any way, I guess the taping is on Tuesday which is also Jeanine’s first day of teaching so she’s been trying to call everyone to see if it would be ok if she could go or what?! I mean, it being the first day and all. Also it would be great if we could have 6 tickets cause besides “AB,” Jeanine, me, and Sody… I guess it would be nice if Marnie and Julie could come too. Any way, she had to tell the lady from the show that she’d have to find out so I hope she doesn’t find other people and isn’t like forget them… or that Jeanine’s school isn’t like, No you can’t take a personal day on the first day or whatever! Apparently since the show is about ‘Overly Stressed Mom’s Jeanine wrote, “I have a 6 year old and two 2 year olds, and I’m a full time Special Ed teacher, doesn’t that say it all?” Also I guess she mentioned me and said I had lived here in MI for about 17 years and was leaving in about 2 weeks so it would be great if I could go to The Oprah show before I left. So yeah when they called she was taking a nap too and Sydney answered. “AB” siad that she was like “Grandma they want to talk to mom and I forgot to tell them she’s not here because she’s sleeping!” So then “AB” took the phone and then the lady told them who she was and “AB” was like, “Oh, is this about the stressed out mom’s? Well this is her mom and I’m here and she’s sleeping so she won’t be so stressed out but I’m sure she’ll want me to wake her up for this one…” or something like that. So any way, that’s the story and I guess I’ll let you all know what happens. I’m really hoping though that this coming Tuesday we’ll be in Chicago and in the HARPO studios, cause it would be sooo cool… but I don’t know… Keep your fingers crossed that things will work out for us cause it would ge so great!!! Alrighty then, I’m off. Let me know what’s up with you guys and if you are free sometime soon. Current mood: Well I realized last night that I only have 2 more Sundays left to go to Church here. Wow, how time flies! Sody found a little basket of Christmas CD's so I've been going through a bit more of those and picking which ones, and which songs I want to start burning soon. I have a lot of little projects like that to do. This past week Jeanine was also here for a few days, we went to Marnie's one day to do corn. Friday Sody and I went to Amy's and then to a Cafe' where Bismark played his guitar and sang, it was fun and he was really good:). It rained so it was a good thing Heather canceled the us tubing thing. Sody and I hope and plan to maybe go to The IMax to see that Dark Nights movie on one of her days off, which will probably either be Mon or Weds. Well I can't quite remember anything else that's been going on... I feel so blank, like I'm forgetting something. Oh well... Don't forget, The Closing Ceremonies for the Olympics is on tonight:)! Oh, by the way, this is a song that I really love playing a lot at the radio station. Francene and I usually crank it up and sing at the top of our longs, its fun:). I hope you like it:). Current mood: Just Chilling, watching Big Brother with Sody...
This peice is so moving, so beautiful, I just had to share. I hope you like it and I hope it puts you in a reflective mood like it does me. Hopefully you appreciate yourself and humanity a bit more after this.. or at least that this reminds you a little bit more to do so. WHAT? Bernie Mac is dead? I just saw it on yahoo. WOA! Any way, the opening Olymic ceremonies were awesome! The Chineese really out did themselves:)! Its probably the best one there's ever been. If you didn't get a chance to watch it you should so YouTube it and see what you missed, even though it won't be the same as watching it last night or on a real TV of course. Well later I'm supposed to go see 'The Sisterhood with Becky and meet 'Ae" for Chineese, ummmm... Current mood: |
